Islamic Games Weightlifting competitions to be held in Baku, on May 12-22, started. In 48 kg weight category, Azerbaijan is represented by Marziyya Maharramova. In snatch, Marziyya lifted 66 kg and in clean and jerk, she could lift 85 kg. Maharramova took the 6th place with total 151 kg (66+85) result.
Women athlete shared her impressions with AAAF Tv, after the competition: “How long was that I did not take part in such a prestigious competition. This competition was very exciting and enjoyable for me. To be honest, I did not expect such a result, because the competitors were very strong. However, I am pleased with the result. I did the degree I did not do during training. My trainers were also pleased with my performance. I would like to thank the President of Federation and everyone individually, and express my gratitude for the care and attention!”
