The 8th World Youth Weightlifting Championship held 8-16th March in Las Vegas, USA, terminated. The members of National team also took part in the competition attended by nearly 200 athletes from 50 countries.
Rahman Kazimov, the winner of European Youth Championship, was last to board the platform in the men’s +102kg bodyweight category.
The athlete took the fifth with 131kg result in snatch.
In clean and jerk, Rahman was marked by historical success. He grabbed the gold medal of World championship in the clean and jerk with three good lifts, 174kg at highest. In the history of Azerbaijan youth weightlifting, no one has ever won a gold medal in the world championship neither in separate actions, nor in total. From this point of view, medal stolen by Kazimov is the first.
Rahman Kazimov finished the fourth totalling at 305kg (131+174).
