On the 27th of April, anti-doping webinar has been organized by Azerbaijan National Anti-Doping Agency (AMADA). The members of Azerbaijan weightlifting team, as well as nearly 30 representatives of the coaching, technical and management staff of federation, took part in the online seminar. The webinar was hosted by Lala Hajiyeva, AMADA Education and Training Manager.
It was stated that the special online education and awareness program of AMADA will last for two months and will cover various aspects of the anti-doping program, as well as provide an interactive way to answer the most pressing questions of athletes during the COVID-19 pandemic. The program will be held in the format of webinars, quizzes and discussions on various topics.
The online program, launched with a webinar on COVID-19 and anti-doping activities on April 27, will proceed until the end of June. Within the first webinar, doping tests during COVID-19, athletes’ whereabouts, Therapeutic Use Exemptions (TUE) and other topics were discussed.
Webinars to be presented by AMADA in the next days will cover the topics showed below:
Rights and obligations of athletes – May 5;
Risks posed by food additives – May 11;
2020 List of Prohibited Substances and Methods – 25 May.
Note: The webinars on the list will be announced in advance on the Facebook and Instagram pages of AMADA. All webinars will be held in Azerbaijani on the “Microsoft Teams” platform.
