Islamic Games Weightlifting competitions to be held in Baku, on May 12-22, started. 130 athletes from 21 countries will get on the platform. There are 51 women, 79 men among them. Azerbaijan National Team will compete with full staff- 16 persons ( 8 women and 8 men).
Today, is the last competition day. Women under 90kg got on the platform. In this weight category, Azerbaijan is represented by Fidan Abdurrahmanova. In snatch, Fidan lifted 60 kg and could lift 75 kg, in clean and jerk. She took the 7th place with total 135 kg (60+75) result.
Under 90 kg weight category, the champion was Egyptian Dina Barakat with 224 kg (99+125) result. Silver medalist was Cameroon athlete- Numbissi Mekunyi with 223 kg (100+123) and Cameroon athlete-Flore Um Albertine was bronze medalist with 207 kg (87+120) result.
