Men, in 56 kg weight category, competed in Azerbaijan Weightlifting Cup, in the competition hall of Weightlifting Academy, in Shuvelan. Here, experienced Elmar Aliev won gold medal with a total of 202 kg (92+120) result.
The winner of the competition shared his joy of victory with the federation’s official website and AAAF TV:

My coach is Akif Aliev, and he worked hard for me. He tries that I raise the flag of Azerbaijan by winning medals in international competitions. We will also work to win medals in European and World Championship in the following year. “
