Mukhtarli Gunel started our performances in European Championship

On July 22-29, European Weightlifting Championship, among young boys and girls U15-17, has started in Milan, Italy. The tournament, which will be attended by 388 athletes from about 40 countries (169 girls and 219 boys), has the license character to the III Youth Olympic Games, to be held in Buenos-Aires, Argentine.

Members of the Azerbaijan National Weightlifting Team also participate in the tournament. In 44 kg weight category, Mukhtarli Gunel joined the medal struggle among U-15 girls.

Our athlete lifted 42kg in snatch and 55kg in clean and jerk. Gunel Mukhtarli took the 6th place in the European Championship with a total of 97kg (42+55) result.
