Under 20 and 23 Azerbaijan Junior Championships started in Weightlifting Competition Hall oa AAAF Park, Khirdalan. About the 100 athlete from different clubs tooks part in this competition.
Opening ceremony of the competition held today. Opening speech said by Fakhraddin Ismayilov, Azerbaijan Youth and Sports Ministry responsible representer. He regarded athletes and other guests. İsmayılov noted that this competition is a big test event for Islamic Solidarity Games, which will be held in Baku, this year. He wished them successes in the upcoming competitions.
Then, the General Secretary of Azerbaijan Weightlifting Federation – Rizvan Rasulov took a floor. He said that the main point of this competition is to complete the composition of National team to go to the Islamic Games: This championship is also a trial for the future World Youth Championship in Japan , European Championship in Albania. I wish great successes to all athletes. Let the strongest win!”
General Secretary declared the competitions open and Azerbaijan Republic State Anthem called out. The competition continued with the struggle of athletes in 56kg weight category.
